Saudi Arabian BlackBerry Users Flock to Nimbuzz

August 6th, 2010

Nimbuzz Blackberry users in Saudi Arabia

In light of the situation in Saudi Arabia, with BlackBerry encrypted services being banned, people are flocking to Nimbuzz by the thousands as their primary solution for chat, IM, texting and messaging on their BlackBerry mobile phones.

As a matter of fact, out of 700,000 BlackBerry users in Saudi Arabia, 10 percent have now chosen Nimbuzz for their communications  – chat/IM/messaging — needs. As of August 6, we are seeing a user log in from Saudi Arabia every two seconds, with almost 10,000 new registrations from Saudi Arabia daily.

We are pleased that BlackBerry users in Saudi Arabia, both residents and tourists, are still able to connect to their friends and family around the world using our Nimbuzz service.  Because Nimbuzz is an open platform and uses XMPP and JINGLE technologies that comply with Saudi government regulations, users can still chat, IM, text and message on their BlackBerry legally.

Have you tried Nimbuzz for BlackBerry yet? Go get it!

By the way, we won the ‘Connect on Blackberry’ prize at the 2009 Blackberry Alliance Program’s EMEA Innovation Awards :)

Top 10 Cell Phones in the US. iPhone lost the #1 spot?

July 26th, 2010

What are your top 10?

Recently checking the news on the usual tech blogs, I found an interesting piece on PC World. They listed the top 10 cell phones in the US, and I was surprised to see their list:

1. EVO 4G, 2. Droid X, 3. HTC Incredible, 4. Nexus One, 5. Samsung Vibrant, 6. Samsung Captivate, 7. Motorola Droid, 8. iPhone 3GS, 9. BlackBerry Bold 9700, 10. Palm Pre Plus.

Interesting to see that the first 7 phones were Android devices, and that you have to get to number eight to see the iPhone 3GS. No iPhone 4 any where on this list!?

But somehow I had to agree with them. Until Apple does something with the iPhone 4 antenna problem, the device cannot be the #1 device in the US. What do you think?

So here it is, my TOP 10.
