Top 10 Cell Phones in the US. iPhone lost the #1 spot?

July 26th, 2010

What are your top 10?

Recently checking the news on the usual tech blogs, I found an interesting piece on PC World. They listed the top 10 cell phones in the US, and I was surprised to see their list:

1. EVO 4G, 2. Droid X, 3. HTC Incredible, 4. Nexus One, 5. Samsung Vibrant, 6. Samsung Captivate, 7. Motorola Droid, 8. iPhone 3GS, 9. BlackBerry Bold 9700, 10. Palm Pre Plus.

Interesting to see that the first 7 phones were Android devices, and that you have to get to number eight to see the iPhone 3GS. No iPhone 4 any where on this list!?

But somehow I had to agree with them. Until Apple does something with the iPhone 4 antenna problem, the device cannot be the #1 device in the US. What do you think?

So here it is, my TOP 10.

After the jump! :)

Challenge: Eliminate your Top 25!

April 20th, 2010

Get rid of some apps! If you already have Nimbuzz installed on your phone, you probably already know all the time and memory you can save by using Social Networking and Communication apps that do more than one thing right?

But for those who are new to these categories or those who just got their new phone, this article will be a very good learning experience.

Let’s put it this way. If we look into the future, products that do one thing only are disappearing and the multitasking ones are prevailing in the tech industry. Why do you think Apple just introduced their new iPhone 4 OS with its main feature being a “multitasking” software ?

It is time to clean up after the jump!

Best March Madness apps for iPhone, Android, and Blackberry. Boom!

March 24th, 2010

It’s on! March Madness is officially here. Woot Woot!

We call March Madness at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments which determine the national champions of college basketball.

This an american tradition which brings the national sports phanatics together from the first week of March through the first week of April. It is a chaos, it is craziness, and a complete madness! Which should explain its particular name.

This is a phenomenon and you should be following it closely on your mobile phone by now.

If not, this is your chance, these are the best MM apps for your iPhone, Android, and Blackberry.

Foursquare, Gowalla, myTown, Cause World, and Whrrl 3 , the Check – In War!

March 12th, 2010

Foursquare, Gowalla, myTown, Cause World, and Whrrl 3 where do I check – in?

There seems to be a lot of noise about all these location based  apps, and now even more that SXSW is coming up. I’m pretty sure there still are a lot of people out there confused about this new language of check-ins, winning badges, founders, buying, and collecting rent vocabulary.

Whenever I try to tell people I know about ‘Foursquare” for example, the first reaction I get is “So whats the point, why do I want everyone to know where I am at all times?”. I guess that part I can only let you find out for yourself….

But for some others like me, who love “playing the game”, but don’t really want to check -in in 5 different apps every time go out for a cup of coffee, the question is, “which of these 5 apps I should use?

Here they are …all free!
