Wow!

In light of the situation in Saudi Arabia, with BlackBerry encrypted services being banned, people are flocking to Nimbuzz by the thousands as their primary solution for chat, IM, texting and messaging on their BlackBerry mobile phones.

As a matter of fact, out of 700,000 BlackBerry users in Saudi Arabia, 10 percent have now chosen Nimbuzz for their communications  – chat/IM/messaging — needs. As of August 6, we are seeing a user log in from Saudi Arabia every two seconds, with almost 10,000 new registrations from Saudi Arabia daily.

We are pleased that BlackBerry users in Saudi Arabia, both residents and tourists, are still able to connect to their friends and family around the world using our Nimbuzz service.  Because Nimbuzz is an open platform and uses XMPP and JINGLE technologies that comply with Saudi government regulations, users can still chat, IM, text and message on their BlackBerry legally.

Well “Airline technology consultant Michael Planey thinks Airline companies will be offering free Wi-Fi as early as mid-2011″!

This means that with your Nimbuzz account, you could stay connected with your friends from Skype, Facebook, MSN, AIM, Gchat, Yahoo and more, during a 12, 13, 14 hours flight absolutely free. Yay!

Already today 1 out of 3 US planes is equipped with Wi-Fi.

What an awesome night!

It was great to see everyone last night at the first Mobile Monday (MoMo) out in the park!

With pizzas, sodas and a lot of love for mobile applications, we could survive the cold weather of the San Francisco summer

We are very happy that we were able to be part of this event, and that we had the opportunity to demonstrate  Nimbuzz to other app lovers and mobile enthusiasts.

We’d like to send special thanks to Mario Tapia from MoMo and Getjar, Noah Kravitz from PhoneDog, Will Park from IntoMobile, Jessica Dolcourt from CNET, and Pamela Woon from Yahoo! for being part of this event.

Hey everyone, you are all welcome to join us at the world first Mobile Monday Life – the first “mobile” Mobile Monday : )

It will happen next Monday on July 19th at Yerba Balbuena Gardens in San Francisco, starting at 7:15pm.  Everybody is welcome as we are demoing super useful mobile apps that are for everyone. Regardless what mobile phone you have, iPhone, Blackberry, Android or else, there will be an app for everyone!

Join Nimbuzz together with Jessica Dolcourt from CNet, Noah Kravitz from PhoneDog, Will Park from IntoMobile, as well as Alex McCallum from RIM – they will tell us what apps they can’t live without.  We will also see Shazam, and a few other apps (stay tuned).

We have so many updates for you!

It is the end of Q2 and as always we bring you a summary of some of the best new phones, gadgets, and Nimbuzz updates during the last  three months of the year!
