With the release of the iPad 2, we’d like to share some must-have apps to to utilize the most of your iPad. The best part is that they’re free, not costing a single cent to be amazed from your iPad. These apps make life easier, stay connected with friends and family, and keep you informed.

The apps are free and compatible with both versions of the iPad.

1. Flipboard

Flipboard is a web alternative to reading magazines. With magazine-style layouts and stunning photos, the apps makes staying updating with news easier. Flipboard also turns Facebook updates and tweets into a digital magazine. A must-have apps for anyone who enjoys a well constructed app with functionality.

Facebook doesn’t have an official for the iPad. Luckily Friendly Facebook for iPad is able to replace it with features such as swiping through feeds and photos full screen. The apps also features Facebook chat and the ability to upload/download images. A great alternative till Facebook releases their own app.


3. iBooks

Apple’s reading for the iPad. Load PDF’s or download free or paid books from iBooks’ extensive collection for easy reading. Some features include bookmarking, highlighting, easy page finding, and more. Also a great solution for students looking to reduce backpack weight.

Dropbox for iPad is great for people who’d like to access their files on the go from Dropbox. All the content on your Dropbox can accessed through the iPad app for. Streaming music and movies are also supported. The app also allows for uploading and syncing with your Dropbox.
While Nimbuzz may not be optimized for the iPad, it’s still a great solution with staying in touch with family and friends. With Nimbuzz you can make free calls to friends and family or chat with friends acroos various social networks. A great solution for staying in touch.

  1. Nimbuzz isn’t an iPad app. I find it very and annoying and pointless to use iPhone apps/iPhone-iPad-optimized apps on my iPad.
