Nimbuzz-for-BlackBerry

We fixed the Blackberry connectin issue and you can get the new version here!

Unfortunately, shortly after we announced our first native application for Blackberry, the OS update to 5.0 caused connection issues, and we had to go back to the “drawing board“.

Although it took longer than expected, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, we finally did it!

Now all of you can enjoy running Nimbuzz on Blackberry :)

Refresh your memory going over all the key features, and an instructional video on how to use Nimbuzz on your Blackberry after the jump:

  • Runs in background: allow Nimbuzz to run in the background so you can be online wherever you go.
  • Connects you to all your friends: Put all your friends in one place, check their status updates, and chat right from the buddy list.
  • Brings home screen notification: You wont miss anything, a red dot will show up on the letf corner of your screen everytime you get a new message.
  • Auto-reconnects: for switching between 3G, 2G and Wifi networks
  • Clickable” URL’s: Share links and websites with your friends! No need to retype web addresses.
  • Integrated into the Blackberry user interface – very easy to use.
  • Sound profiles - your notifications can be customized, so you can make them personal.
  • Save money on text messages with free Nimbuzz to Nimbuzz messaging.
  • And always remember that it is free!  :)

  10. Ok, I was running 1.5.0 for the 8300 on my 8330m (it worked fine), and so I tried to “upgrade” to the just released 1.1.1 (? How is that an upgrade?)
Anyways, even though it specifically said for 8330, the 8330 version didn’t run (nor the 8300, nor the 8130).
I back up all my apps on my laptop, so I reinstalled 1.5.0, but what gives?

    Bouy March 16th, 2010
  12. @Bouy Unfortunately, Blackberry (RIM) hasn’t released the VoIP (Voice) – API (advanced programming interface) – but as soon as they do, we will make sure to add the calling feature. Thanks for sending us your question.

In Case You Missed It: Nimbuzz Q1 Wrap Up! April 6th, 2010
  14. Hello I would like to report that Nimbuzz 1.1.1 for bberry does not work on my 8700.

The click does no action, it worked on the first setup screen to get my username and password, but on all screens after this the click on my wheel no longer works. (This is an older style bberry that has a wheel on the side and to click you press on the wheel)

When i get to the screen to setup my chat accounts i can’t select a provider and click done.

The only way to close Nimbuzz is to restart my phone.

Went Online and setup my accounts, now on my BBerry i can see my contacts, however i can’t interact with them in any way.

Is this app not compatible for bberry 8700 series phones?

I guess it is time for a phone upgrade.

  15. Hi
I downloaded the new version nimbuzz 1.1.1 on my BB 8310 guess what,no chat rooms,no file sahring or pic sending option, you can’t even delete a contact in 1.1.1 and also u can’t even send a email message to the contact! I tell u it sucks
The previous nimbuzz 1.5.0 was better than this 1.1.1
    My suggestion “don’t install it!”

  16. Using v1.1.1 on my bb bold 9700, yahoo and facebook are working fine but I’m seeing very limited contacts. I cannot see most of my Yahoo contacts, only 12-15 sre online at a time. Facebook contacts get cut off after friends starting with letter J. Please help! Thanks

    jon April 14th, 2010
  17. @Peaceful Thanks for sending us your feedback. The reason we lost some features is because we had to create a native version from scratch – Stay tuned, we’ll be adding all those features that you mentioned pretty soon. In the meantime please let us know if you have any more comments or issues.

  26. @Dayo Thanks for your feedback. We will add this feature soon. Not too long ago we had to re create the BB Nimbuzz version from scratch, and we are recovering all the features with coming up releases. Thanks for your patience and please let me know if you have any other questions.
