Layar’s Augmented Reality on iPhone!

Layar

You got to get this application if you own an iPhone 3Gs! (video after the jump)

Layer is an augmented reality application which translates to the fact that it will show you additional information on top of what you see through your iPhone camera.

For example, running Layar you can point your iPhone in any direction of the sky and find out where exactly the nearest Tweets around you are coming from, or where Yelp listings are located, also what Wikipedia info there is on the landmark you are looking at, the Golden Gate bridge for example.

It is simply awesome. They have had their Android application out for a while and the iPhone app just got released – go out and get it now! It is one of those apps that if you show it to your friends, it makes their jaws drop.
